Design and Manufacturing of Quality office and Institutional Furnishings since 1959.

Views From the President & Founder,
Israel Friedman

“ASCO was founded in April, 1959. I came to Canada as an immigrant in 1959 when the opportunity came up to purchase a small company. At that time Asco was 3000 sq ft,  located in an old TTC horse stable and had 2 employees. As a professional tool and die maker, it was perfect for me as we were manufactuding funiture hardware only for the furntiure industries (table slides, leg brackets, angles, etc, which se still manufacture).”

We have grown over these last 57 years to become one of Canada’s leading furniture suppliers for our educational institutions including schools, colleges and universities.

ASCO’s product line has expanded from highly specialized steel parts to full fledged designer lines. Over the years ASCO also expanded vastly into combined woodworking and metal. We now occupy a 45,000sq ft plant and employ over 30 people, including some of the most accomplished tradesmen in the country.

Views From the Vice President,
Jay Friedman

“ What really makes ASCO so unique is that our products are beautifully designed, tough and sturdy. We’ve been involved in the quality process in order to create durable, long lasting furniture. Every aspect of manufacturing is built right here, by us, from scratch and all of our raw materials are sourced locally, in Canada.

While other companies have had to offshore pieces and parts in order to keep their prices competitive, we haven’t, which has allowed us not only to survive tough economic times, but given us the ability to stand behind every single product that we produce. Every ASCO product comes with a 10-year warranty on the metal parts. That’s how deeply we believe in our quality.”

The ASCO Difference

“Jay began working for the family business in the 12th grade. While I won’t tell you how long that is, I will tell you its long enough for him to know every aspect of this business in ways few people do. Jay has dedicated his life to making sure that ASCO products live up to their roots; tough, long-lasting, premium quality. Over the last few yeas Jay has spent a significant amount of  time upgrading ASCO’s product line and providing leadership in innovation that will help keep ASCO relevant for years to come. He has truly expanded on his father’s strong foundation and he’s built a strong team. I’m very excited to show the world just how far ASCO has come.”
